Light Acne Treatment – an Acne Cure
Light acne treatment is rapidly becoming a popular acne since it is fairly easy and a drug-free way to help heal blemishes. As you know, many topical medications contain strong ingredients that damage the skin sensitive, resulting in scaling, redness and increased sensitivity to sunlight. Ay! However, blue light (not beer, if you are a Canadian) therapy is widely regarded as an excellent alternative to most acne medications. Some people have expressed concern about the safety of this procedure since this procedure I used to use ultraviolet (UV) that was harmful to the skin. Fortunately, modern Clearlight treatments have been approved by the FDA and free UV hazards.
The FDA approved blue light therapy for acne in August 2002. In studies, two exposures of 15 minutes per week over a period of four weeks produced a 60 percent reduction in acne in 80 percent of patients. recorded remissions from acne lasted up to three to eight months. The first treatment system approved, Clear Light, is available through dermatologists. This method involves a new therapeutic blue or red light that uses what is called acne PhotoClearingTM – APCTM technology. It attacks and destroys the surface of acne quickly and easily repair it. Also known to be effective in cleaning inflammation acne in a month.
So, how does blue light therapy?
Basically, patients are exposed to a blue light source low intensity (405 nm to 420 nm) for 15 minutes twice a week for 4 weeks. Each session costs between $ 50 and $ 150, making a full course of treatment from an average $ 800. But do not know, acne treatment is considered cosmetic light and therefore not covered by insurance.
Another form of acne treatment light used increasingly known as pulsed light and heat energy (LHE) therapy.
LHE therapy uses light and heat to eradicate the causes of acne. Much like blue light therapy, LHE therapy uses light to kill bacteria that cause acne. Heat is also used to reduce sebum production and to help reduce sebaceous glands. It is an attractive option for many acne sufferers because it promises fast results. In general, the improvement in acne symptoms can be seen in just 30 days. As expected, this is becoming more popular because it is handled promptly, with most sessions performed in just over 10 minutes. The FDA has approved LHE therapy for the treatment of mild to moderate acne.
While different types of light therapies may seem attractive, can also be expensive, and can not be covered by most health insurance plans. If you are looking for an answer that is milder and less expensive take into account many of the herbal therapies that are available. Some acne sufferers swear by certain herbal supplements, including blackcurrant seed oil black, evening primrose oil and others. Follow the directions on the package or ask your pharmacist or doctor. Also, do not take any herbal medication if taking prescription drugs as they could be side effects. Consult your pharmacist or doctor first.
