well i just googled ziana and yes it is both an antiobiotic and a retinoid.

a retinoid is a derivative of vitamin A.
and its purpose is to help speed up cell turn over. this helps acne by clearing dead skin cells so you dont have anything for your sebum/oil to get clogged up on – which would result in acne

and about the self tanner, i think itd be fine.
id at least try it one time. the exfoliation process takes 28 days to complete naturally, and retinoids and scrubs just help aid the process to prevent any dullness or poor makeup application or poor shaving in my case.
because the dead skin cells on your face dont all come off at the same time naturally, it can cause your makeup to flake, and prevent me from getting a close shave.

so as long as you moisturizer after washing and using your acne product, i think your tan will be fine.
